Yanaël Plumet
Yanaël is a performer and a traveler with a wide interest for the moving body and its adaptation to various contexts.He develops an instant composition work while cultivating interactions with other disciplines: music, circus, visual arts, literature. His latest works include the duet Ituaï, the project Layers which gathered dancers, musicians and a video artist in live performance. His solo elsewhere... was inspired by two years of travel between Europe and Central Asia and was presented several times in Turkey and the Balkans. In 2006 he co-initiated the improvisation festival TRANSiT>iSTANBUL which he's been directing since. In 2000 he founded the Compagnie Coulisse to give a framework for multidisciplinary projects and facilitating intercultural exchange. He created an outdoor structure called Prisma, mobile Lab. This tool currently supports the project Metabolism, body in project combining creation, education and research. His eclectic course crosses dance, theatre, musicals, opera and performance art. After his training in the academic techniques in France and London he added qi qong, tai chi and yoga to his regular practices. He developed his work in improvisation with artists such as Julyen Hamilton, Lisa Nelson, Simone Forti, Kirstie Simson, Mark Tompkins, amongst others. He regularly teaches contact-improvisation, dance technique and instant composition to different types of publics. |
