 Caravajal15 residenza dinamicaArtistic residence of Rossella Fiumi, promotes the cultural projects and productions of the choreographer, as well as interacts with Italian and foreign guest artists, in the field of new dance, multimedial projects and experimentation of the processes of communication, in the spirit of a dynamic cooperation in the spread of shared cultural practices. The residence seeks out and supports the cultural projects, creation, production, formation, study of techniques of movement and of the creative processes of dance and the performing arts. Italian and international artists work together in a spirit of collaboration and mutual responsibility. In the course of the year 2004 Caravajal15, formerly the residence of the ALEFdanzaateatro company productions (since 1988) directed by Rossella Fiumi, and headquarters of the Center for dance formation (since 1978), has been redefining its identity and objectives. Objectives of Caravajal15: International cultural projects, workshops, performances, dance, theater, media art, video-art, concerts, happenings, courses in pedagogy regarding the body. Zipfestival - international scene for improvisation and live performing arts. ALEFdanzaateatro productions Is a cultural association for the study and experimentation of contemporary dance, founded in 1984 by a group of dancers of the Roman school. Originally an offshoot of the B.O.B. (Bussotti Opera Ballet), the company worked in the staging of dance performances based on musical compositions by Sylvano Bussotti in the years from 1984 to 1987. Rossella Fiumi assumed the artistic direction of the company in 1988, creating works presented in these years in Italy and abroad. The group produces and promotes performances elaborating forms of dance-theater-music interaction. Under its new artistic direction, since 1988 the company has presented its productions in Italian and foreign circuits and festivals, including: Todi Festival, Festival “La danza italiana” Reggio Emilia, Teatro Porta Romana Milano, Teatro Vascello Roma, Festival di Cagliari, theater seasons E.T.I., circuit F.U.S., “Teatro: si ricerca” Teatro Morlacchi Perugia, Festival “La Danza” Teatro Ponchielli Cremona, Festival “Orvieto per la danza” editions of 1989 to 1994, Festival Valencia 1994, tournée in South America 1995, Piattaforma della danza contemporanea Fondazione Romaeuropa 1995, Festival Tanztage Potsdam-Berlin Theater am Fischhaus 1995, IV Forum des Artis Visuais Brasilia 1995, Mancinelli Theatre Orvieto season 2002, Teatri di Vita Festival Bologna 2004, Stalker festival Biella, Differenti Sensazioni Stalker Teatro festival Torino 2004, XII Quinzena de Almada - International Contemporary Dance Festival Lisbon 2004, Rozdroze 2004 - International Meeting of Live Arts Festival Warsaw, XII Festival Nuova Danza Cagliari 2005, St. Petersburg 2006,... and so on Since 1988 the ALEFdanzaateatro has addressed itself, in addition to its own performances, to the promotion of pedagogical currents and international workshops in the area of contemporary dance, inviting to collaborate in the projects in residence prestigious names, such as: Simone Forti, Lisa Nelson, Daniel Lepkoff, Ray Chung, Andrew Harwood, Jean Gaudin, Garry Reigenborn, Dominique Dupuy, Masaki Iwana, Meg Stuart, Randy Warshaw, Jean Cebron, Kurt Koegel, Lutz Gregor, Marcia Plevin, Dieter Heitkamp, Benno Voorham, Jess Curtis, and many, many others ..... From 1989 to 1994 the Association directed and organized the festival Orvieto per la Danza, with outstanding international guest companies, supported by the local Institutions. The ALEFdanzaateatro Company was supported by the Ministry for Cultural Assets and Activities, for own dance productions, from 1988 to 2004, the year in which Rossella Fiumi decided not to renew her request for public financing, in favor of a renewed desire for independence. Following this political-cultural decision, in 2004 Rossella Fiumi redefined the new identity of the Compagnia ALEFdanzaateatro, coining a new name Caravajal15 residenza dinamica.
